HEREFORD FC have ‘regretfully’ accepted an offer for striker Montel Gibson from a team in the league below them.
However, a change in personal circumstances meant that the Bulls agreed to find him another club.
Northern Premier League side Matlock Town came in the Bulls accepted their offer.
“While we are disappointed to lose him, the offer that’s been accepted suits all parties,” he boss Paul Caddis told the club’s website.
“With that being the case, as a club we decided it was better to try to move quickly to address the situation and when an acceptable offer was received for the player, we decided to accept it so everyone can move on and plan for the future.”
Hereford moved quickly and have announced that fellow striker Ahkeem Rose is extending his stay at Edgar Street.
The 25-year-old has five goal contributions and one goal to his name during seven matches, since joining on a ‘short term’ deal.
“Ahkeem’s pace and power at the top end of the pitch has proved a real problem for opponents and we expect that to continue moving forward deeper into the season,” added Caddis.
Hereford are in FA Cup action this weekend when they host Ilkeston Town.
