Dr Rajpal Brar reports that before deciding to move Stoke City midfielder Souleymane Sidibe, Rangers will take into account at least three key reasons.
The injury specialist asserts that the Gers will evaluate the 17-year-old’s physical and mental health in addition to his technical readiness for senior football, given his lack of first-team experience.
This follows the news that the Ibrox team was one of several teams fighting for the services of the French midfielder this summer, as revealed by Foot Mercato on May 23.
Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar spoke exclusively with Ibrox News about his circumstances. He said:
Rangers will consider several aspects, such as technical preparedness, mental and physical health.
“whether there are deficiencies, they’ll be evaluating his response to pre- and off-season training to see whether he can close the gap.
“Players must be gradually transitioned into senior football roles and their minutes must be carefully managed. The move from youth football to senior football is frequently difficult.”
Sidibe might be a potential Rangers player.
Given how little the Frenchman has played for Stoke, it’s likely that the Gers are keeping an eye on him for the future.
Despite being born in Paris, he has received caps for England at the under-17 and under-18 levels.
It remains to be seen how he develops as a player and which country he ends up pledging his allegiance to.
