High-profile pundits Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have had their say on Blues’ ignominious relegation from the Championship to League One
Speaking after Birmingham City’s agonising relegation to League One at the end of the Championship season on Saturday were Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer.
The Blues defeated play-off-bound Norwich City 1-0 at St Andrew’s, but they were relegated for the first time in thirty years as a result of wins by Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn, and Plymouth.
Lineker was quick to blame the club’s manager changes during the season—sometimes forced, sometimes intentional—for the Blues’ difficulties, even as he expressed sympathy for their situation.
