Midfielder Marc Roca of Leeds United is already seeking to return to Real Betis for the upcoming campaign; his future will be determined by the Whites’ performance at Wembley on Sunday.

Leeds’ season is almost over, and their matchup with Southampton will decide which division they play in the following year.

If they defeat Russell Martin’s team, they stay in the EFL for another season; if they win, they go back to the Premier League.

If Leeds loses in the playoff final, Marc Roca may return to a loan.

Midfielder Marc Roca has already stated that he can stay another year on loan at Real Betis should Leeds not be promoted this season:

There is a provision similar to this one. I’m free to go out on loan once again if Leeds isn’t in the Premier League. See you later.

“That relies on whether or not they rise. I have no influence over them.

“I genuinely hope they rise, as I wish the best for all the teams. It has been my home, and from there, we shall see. I am appreciative of them and wish them the best.

Now, as Leeds get ready to play the team that has defeated them twice this season at Wembley on Sunday, a provision of that kind looms over one match.

Leeds have £10.2m sale option for Roca if they go up

Benefiting Leeds, if they win Sunday’s promotion game at Wembley, they will have the authority to allow the Spaniard to depart permanently for a reasonable amount.

According to Estadio Deportivo, the midfield player’s contract has a buy option for €12 million (£10.2 million) that will activate as soon as Leeds is promoted.

However, as they don’t seem to have the money for such a trade, Betis will have to bargain like any other team and will be looking to talk Leeds down.

It remains to be seen if the 49ers will accept a lesser asking price for a player who deserted last summer.

If Leeds triumphs at Wembley, they will hold the power.

We know we have the power to sell these loan players to other teams, so winning at Wembley would be significant for us in dealing with them.

These Roca clauses pretty much say it all—if we’re in the top division, we won’t have to worry about him leaving.
