Crystal Palace start talks to sign winger compared to Neymar and ready to make £8m bid

Now that the elite of England is also circling Michael Olise, Crystal Palace has begun talks to sign an Arsenal player.

Reiss Nelson is being courted by Crystal Palace.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Crystal Palace and Arsenal are reportedly in talks to buy Reiss Nelson.

The Hale End graduate is reportedly being watched closely by West Ham and Fulham as well, but the Eagles have now taken the lead.

Nelson’s agent, Caught Offside, is reportedly prepared to offer £8 million to sign Nelson, while Arsenal is looking to collect £21 million.

It follows The Athletic’s report that, following a disappointing 2023–24 campaign at the Emirates Stadium, the Arsenal No. 24 told the Gunners he would like to look into his alternatives this summer.

Mikel Arteta favored players like Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Leandro Trossard on the wings, hence Nelson only made one Premier League start in the previous campaign.

Dougie Freedman’s bargain could be a stroke of brilliance.

It might turn out to be a great commercial move if Freedman is able to seal a £10 million contract with Arsenal this summer.

Nelson, who has been around for a long, is only 24 years old. He made his debut six years ago against BATE Borisov in the UEFA Europa League, and Martin Keown even likened him to Neymar following his impressive display.

The competition has been too strong for the man from Elephant and Castle to overcome elite players at Arsenal, which is unfortunate. His skills would be more useful at Crystal Palace, where other so-called street footballers like Yannick Bolasie, Wilfried Zaha, and Ebere Eze have prospered.
