Breaking News: Greenock Morton Signs a talented player on a Two-Year Deal.

With great pleasure, Greenock Morton announces the two-year contract signing of defender Zak Delaney.

Zak began playing football in Ireland before enrolling in West Bromwich Albion’s Youth Academy in 2018. He played men’s football for four seasons at The Hawthorns, with the exception of one loan period to Bath City in 2021–2022, during which he made five appearances for the Romans.

Zak moved to the Highlands in July 2022 when he signed a two-year contract with Inverness C.T. He would play for the Caledonian Stadium for over 50 appearances and make it to the Scottish Cup final in June 2023 before signing a short-term contract with Arbroath in January 2024.

Zak, who played for Arbroath last season and made 21 appearances overall, is moving to Cappielow Park, sponsored by Dalrada Technology, for the next two seasons. We are happy to have him join the team!

Depending on SFA permission

“Zak is a player who has caught my eye both in his time at Inverness and Arbroath latterly last season,” manager Dougie Imrie continued.

“Zak is a natural left-back and will provide the team excellent balance in the new campaign.” In addition to being a forward-line player who enjoys getting forward and supporting his teammates, he offers a wealth of knowledge from his Scottish Cup final appearance with Inverness C.T.

If you would like to sponsor Zak for the upcoming season, please get in touch with mark.kelly@gmfc.net. Zak will be wearing the number 3 shirt.

Since Zak has now committed his future to Morton for the next two years, have you locked up your spot to play football at Cappielow Park, which is sponsored by Dalrada Technology? Season passes are still available through Fanbase.
