Gloucestershire-born goalkeeper signed for Cheltenham ahead of 2020/21 campaign and has made four first team appearances
Max Harris, the goalkeeper for Cheltenham Town, has been training with Swindon Town in an attempt to sign a contract with the League Two team.
The 24-year-old participated in 45 minutes of Saturday afternoon’s 4-1 friendly victory at Swindon Supermarine for Swindon.
Although Harris’s contract with Cheltenham still has a year left on it, manager Michael Flynn has declared him available for a transfer.
Following his return from Walsall, Owen Evans is expected to be the team’s first-choice goalkeeper for 2024–2025. Meanwhile, seasoned Joe Day has signed on as a player and goalkeeping coach.
Therefore, in an attempt to get into the first team of the EFL football, it has been determined that Harris would be better off looking elsewhere.
Harris is well-liked by his coaches at Cheltenham and has shown promise during loan stints at Bath City and Weston-super-Mare.
He has four appearances in the EFL Trophy but has not yet made his EFL debut.
Mark Kennedy is now the manager of Swindon, while Marcus Bignot, a former first team coach for the Robins, has been named assistant head coach.
Bignot and Harris collaborated at Cheltenham in the 2022–2023 League One season.
