LATEST NEWS: CELTIC PLOT RECORD KEEPER BID

The Hoops have been informed that their previous best for a goalkeeper, the £4.5 million they paid for AEK Athens’ Vasilis Barkas in the summer of 2020, will have to be doubled.

The Czech team is unwilling to let go of their 26-year-old goalkeeper, Jensen, despite the champions’ interest in him. The Daily Record reports that the Parkhead team has been informed that it will require a payment over £8 million for his club to reconsider.

Jensen has only been at the Czechs for a year after being snapped up for £1.25million after an impressive season-long loan from AZ Alkmaar.
Sparta are now looking to make a massive profit on the uncapped Dane.
Brendan Rodgers has been scouring the market for a successor to Joe Hart after the 37-year-old 75 times-capped former England international No.1 announced his intentions to retire in February.
The fans favourite said farewell in fine style when he bowed out after the Scottish Cup Final triumph over Philippe Clement’s Ibrox side at Hampden on May 25 when he kept a clean sheet and Adam Idah claimed the last-gasp winner.
Rodgers took the opportunity to look at Scott Bain, Tobi Olewaymi and Josh Clarke as he rotated his keepers in the 1-1 draw with Scott Brown’s Ayr United at Somerset Park on Friday night.

Benji Siegrist’s Hoops contract is still in effect for another two years, but since the conclusion of the previous season, the Swiss final line of defense has not produced anything.

Regarding the goalkeeping issue, Rodgers said, as CQN reported over the weekend, that “we’ve known that since Joe said that he was leaving that it’s definitely one of the areas that we needed to improve.”

“Yeah, that takes some time again, but our goal is to finish that by the start of the season, hopefully.”
Numerous names are being mentioned. Thus, just a decent one would do.
