One Nottingham Forest player has now revealed he would have actually stayed with his old club – had they offered him a new contract.
Elliot Anderson, Eric da Silva Moreira, Marko Stamenic, and Carlos Miguel are the four new players the Garibaldi have signed since moving to the City Ground this summer.
Now, at Nottingham Forest, the latter has uncovered an intriguing discovery.
Carlos Miguel admits he would have stayed at Corinthians
Miguel from Corinthians was signed by Nottingham Forest for £3.4 million on Tuesday, following the activation of the goalkeeper’s release clause. Miguel is a Brazilian. The departure infuriated Corinthians as the 25-year-old replaced club veteran Cassio as the team’s undisputed No. 1 only a few months prior.
Speaking with Benjamin Back regarding the criticism he received before to his departure from Corinthians, Miguel has now placed the blame on the Série A team for not exerting greater effort to retain him.
“Yes, I would have,” the South American player replied when asked if he would have stayed with Corinthians in the event that they had extended an offer. I will always be happy to play, no matter what. It’s possible that everyone is against me.
Like everyone else, I’m not to Nottingham Forest to make a ton of money. Are individuals willing to speak up? Proceed now. But now that I’ve spoken it, I will silence anyone who utters such words.
Matz Sels may have a challenge on his hands at Nottingham Forest
Matz Sels may be afraid for his top rank after hearing Miguel’s defiant remarks.
The Rio de Janeiro native unintentionally gave the Belgian a message when he said, “Nobody will ever take away my joy of playing.” It was obviously directed at Corinthians, but it was also relevant to Nottingham Forest’s top player, who was obstructing his usual action.
Before Miguel can remove Sels from between the sticks, he must, of course, show himself to Nuno Espirito Santo, and based on his audacious remarks, it appears that he is prepared to do just that.
