Crystal Palace make ‘£52.6m offer’ for ex-Tottenham Hotspur man as West Ham ‘move’ for Everton ‘target’

Crystal Palace eye Olise replacement as West Ham defensive targets emerge

West Ham defense targets emerge as Crystal Palace looks to replace Olise.

Sporting's Marcus Edwards to replace Olise at Crystal Palace
With Oliver Glasner and Julien Lopetegui enjoying their first transfer windows at their respective clubs, Crystal Palace and West Ham are both expecting successful summer transfer windows.

This window, Glasner has already lost important player Michael Olise. In anticipation of the possible exits of Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze, he will be searching for defensive and winger replacements. Lopetegui, meantime, is working to reassemble the Irons’ defense, which gave up 74 goals in 38 games during the previous season.

Here is the most recent information from the Selhurst Park and London Stadium camps as the Eagles and Irons attempt to finalize their 2024–25 rosters.

Crystal Palace offers £12.6 million.

as Tottenham Hotspur had been linked to a deal for their former player, Marcus Edwards of Sporting CP, the Lilywhites’ interest seems to have waned as the Eagles remain intrigued. Crystal Palace is reportedly expressing the greatest interest in the player.

With Michael Olise already gone from Palace and Eberechi Eze scheduled to leave as well, the Eagles are searching for possible winger replacements in order to get Edwards back to the Premier League.

The Record claims that Palace has made a bid of €15 million (£12.6 million) for the winger. This, however, is apparently not even close to Sporting’s expectations; the Portuguese team is supposedly looking for a transfer fee of between €25–30 million (£21–25 million) for the former Spurs player.

Spurs also own a 35% sell-on clause for Edwards, which means they would receive £5.8 million in exchange for a deal that is anticipated to cost roughly €20 million or £16.8 million. Al Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, has apparently expressed interest in signing the winger, but Palace has not reciprocated the interest.

The 25-year-old offensive midfielder moved to Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2019 after starting his career with Spurs and spending time on loan at Excelsior and Norwich City. Before joining Sporting CP in 2022, the winger played for the team in around 80 league games. He went on to play for them 71 times in the Primeira Liga, earning the title with them in the most recent season.

West Ham makes a “move” to sign Everton.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham “have moved” to sign Jackson Tchatchoua, a defender for Hellas Verona, and they aim to beat Everton, a Premier League rival, to get him.

West Ham and Everton are apparently interested in the Cameroonian defender, but it is the Irons who “have moved” for him. The Italian club is presently asking €8 million (£6.7 million) for the defender. After a successful loan stint at Charleroi in Belgium, Hellas Verona paid €3 million to bring the 22-year-old over on a permanent contract this summer. The 22-year-old, who was born in Belgium but is of Cameroonian origin, has only made one appearance for the national team of Cameroon, which they won 4-1 against Cape Verde in a June 2024 World Cup qualifier.

After a year, the Italian team is now expecting to turn a profit of at least €5 million because to the Premier League interest he is receiving. According to a story from earlier this month, the Toffees were the first to express interest and were “ready to buy him.” But now that West Ham has reportedly made a move to acquire him, the defender is expected to fetch a lot more money as both Premier League teams increase their interest.
