‘Too expensive and too hesitant’ – Club ditch idea to sign Leeds United player

Man Utd and Tottenham plans to replace superstars with Leeds ace will spark transfer-defining response

Marseille have decided against signing Illan Meslier from Leeds United this summer, deeming him ‘too expensive and too hesitant’.

According to L’Equipe, the Leeds goalkeeper is no longer being considered by Roberto de Zerbi’s team.

Recent reports had indicated that Meslier was among Marseille’s potential targets as they undergo significant changes after hiring De Zerbi as manager.

A new goalkeeper is a priority for Marseille, and Meslier had been considered since he is eager to leave Leeds to avoid another season in the Championship.

Meslier was reportedly enthusiastic about the move, and discussions were advancing, although Leeds’ asking price was a major obstacle that needed negotiation.

However, it appears that the plan has been dropped, with L’Equipe stating that Marseille are now looking at other options.

The newspaper reports that Marseille found Meslier ‘too expensive and too hesitant,’ prompting them to explore other possibilities, leaving Meslier at Elland Road and seeking other interested clubs.
