Rasmus Ankersen, the manager of Southampton, has sent a strong message to any team hoping to sign one of the Saints’ players this summer.

Flynn Downes was just signed by Saints, who have been concentrating on acquiring players. Meanwhile, Brazilian left-sided sensation Welington was bound by a pre-contract arrangement.

Welington may be loaned to Turkey, where Paul Onuachu, a striker for Southampton, played last season, according to rumors.

Onuachu was a player for Trabzonspor, who have been in constant contact with Southampton in an attempt to reclaim him.

Saints manager Russell Martin is excited to have the strong striker return for the preseason despite their lack of success thus far.

Keeping a careful check on Southampton’s Turkish sister team, Goztepe, Ankersen has demanded that Trabzonspor pay Onuachu’s market value.

According to Ankersen, via the Turkish daily Sabah, “if Paul Onuachu is going to be sold, it needs to be done for the right price.”

“You have to pay the Ferrari price if you want to buy a Ferrari.”

Onuachu is valued at €10 million by Southampton, while Trabzonspor is offering €6 million with a 25% sell-on clause.

The Turkish side has presented Southampton with a number of offers in an attempt to reach an agreement that the Saints can accept.
