West Ham United have submitted a £21 million offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug, according to Florian Plettenberg. The Sky Sports journalist reported on X on Thursday (1 August) that the German club has not yet rejected the proposal, which includes add-ons, but they are seeking a fee of around £25.2 million.
If West Ham finds Dortmund’s demands too high, they may withdraw from negotiations and instead pursue a deal with Aston Villa for Jhon Duran.

West Ham United has been willing to spend this summer, and for the sake of a few million pounds, it is likely they will increase their offer to meet Dortmund’s asking price.
While £25.2 million is a significant amount for a 31-year-old striker, Fullkrug performed well at the Euros this summer and doesn’t rely heavily on pace. He could still be a valuable asset in the Premier League.
In comparison, securing a deal for Duran will still be significantly more expensive. While the Colombian forward is younger, he represents a bigger risk than the German international.
Whatever decision West Ham makes, they must act quickly with the new Premier League season fast approaching. They cannot afford to start the campaign with just Michail Antonio and Danny Ings as their striking options.
Whether they go for Duran or Fullkrug, they will need to pay a substantial fee to secure a new striker soon.
