Manchester City midfielder Alex Robertson, who was on loan at Portsmouth last season, is reportedly moving to Championship side Cardiff City for a fee of just £1 million, according to talkSPORT.
The 21-year-old midfielder, born in Scotland, progressed through Manchester City’s youth academy and was promoted to the senior team in 2021.
Last season, Robertson was loaned out to Portsmouth in League One, where he made 23 appearances under manager John Mousinho, helping the team secure promotion.
The Manchester City midfielder impressed during his time at Fratton Park, leading to speculation that he might return this summer.
In his league appearances for John Mousinho’s side, Robertson contributed to five goals.
However, Robertson is now on the brink of joining Cardiff City, with reports suggesting the Welsh club is paying around £3 million for his transfer.
Recent claims, though, indicate that Cardiff is actually securing the deal for just £1 million. The agreement will also include a sell-on clause, described as ‘significant.’
Robertson will be eager to make an impact with his performances at Cardiff City in the upcoming season.
