Ella Mai welcomes first child with NBA star Jayson Tatum after hiding pregnancy from the public

Ella Mai and her rumored partner, NBA power forward Jayson Tatum, have reportedly welcomed their first child together.

The “Boo’d Up” singer, 29, who ignited pregnancy rumors in June, was seen holding a newborn in her arms while posing with the Boston Celtics star and family members in a video that surfaced on X (formerly Twitter).

In the video, she wore an oversized Team USA bomber jacket as her baby rested on her chest, supporting Tatum, 26, who was part of the American Olympic basketball team. The baby’s gender, name, and date of birth have not been disclosed.

Speculation about her pregnancy began when she appeared to conceal a baby bump while celebrating the Celtics’ NBA Finals victory a few weeks ago, though she never addressed the rumors.

To protect her privacy, the “Trip” singer remained off social media for over six months.

After keeping their relationship private for years, the British singer and the gold medalist can now celebrate the arrival of their little one.

Fans expressed their thoughts on Ella’s secret pregnancy and birth in the comments of her latest Instagram post.

One follower wrote, “I’m so sad she didn’t get the chance to announce her pregnancy. Social media ruins everything; it would have been so cute.”

Another added, “I hope you announce your relationship soon. They’re a beautiful couple. Congratulations on the baby. I’m a bit jealous, LOL.”

A fan humorously commented, “Could’ve at least posted the baby feet and name, dang Ella.”

Although they have never officially confirmed their relationship, the couple has been linked since 2019, when Ella was spotted courtside at Madison Square Garden during a New York Knicks game against Tatum’s team.

Ella and Jayson were first seen together in 2022 at Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth of July White Party in the Hamptons.

That same year, during an appearance on The Breakfast Club, the X-Factor alum avoided questions about the NBA star.

Co-host DJ Envy asked, “There’s rumors that you’re a Boston Celtics fan.”

“Oh really?” she replied.

“They say you’re a Boston Celtics fan and possibly dating a Boston Celtic. Is there any truth to that?” he continued, to which she responded, “I’m definitely a basketball fan, but I’m not one to talk about my dating life.”
