Leeds United may turn to their promotion rivals Burnley to bolster their squad in the coming weeks.
Both Leeds and Burnley are strong contenders for promotion back to the Premier League this season, with Burnley making a strong statement on the opening weekend. While Leeds played to a 3-3 draw at home against newly promoted Portsmouth, Burnley delivered an impressive 4-1 victory over fellow relegated side Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
However, just as Leeds experienced at Elland Road a year ago, Burnley may still lose some players before the transfer window closes, partly due to their currently bloated squad.
With Daniel Farke eager to strengthen Leeds in three key positions, the club could potentially raid Burnley to reinforce one of those areas.
Since Crysencio Summerville’s transfer to West Ham United nearly two weeks ago, Leeds United has prioritized strengthening the winger position, among two others.
Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe have emerged as key targets for Leeds, but progress on securing either player has been limited.
