In just fifteen days, the summer transfer window will close, not reopening until January 2025.

Luton Set To Break Club Transfer Record - Vital Luton Town

As the deadline approaches, it’s likely there will be some activity involving Luton Town.

Until any official announcements are made by the club, we’re left to sift through all the transfer gossip churned out by the media.

One current rumor involves a potential high-value transfer for a centre-back.

Reports, including from Luton Today, suggest that Luton Town is interested in Cardiff City’s centre-back, Mark McGuinness.

McGuinness, 23, came through the Arsenal Academy but didn’t make a league appearance for the Gunners. He had a loan stint with Ipswich Town before joining Cardiff City, and also spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday before establishing himself in Cardiff’s first team.

At the time of writing, McGuinness has made 83 league appearances for Cardiff City and has represented the Republic of Ireland at U19 and U21 levels.

The source indicates that Cardiff City has received a bid for McGuinness from an unnamed club but is holding out for a fee of around £10 million.

My question is – do you think Luton Town would be willing to spend approximately £10 million on a centre-back?
