Huddersfield Town Owner Keen to Add Quality Forward Despite Arrival of West Ham Loanee

Huddersfield Town have kicked off the season strongly, winning their first three matches across all competitions and netting seven goals. Despite this promising start, owner Kevin Nagle has emphasized that the club is still in the market for a new forward, even after securing the season-long loan of promising West Ham prospect Callum Marshall.

The 19-year-old Marshall made a significant impact last season, scoring 18 goals in just 14 appearances for West Ham’s development side as they reached the play-off quarter-finals in the 2023/24 Premier League 2 campaign. He quickly made his mark at Huddersfield, scoring in the Carabao Cup victory over Morecambe just four days after his arrival.

Although the addition of another forward could potentially lead to an overstocked squad and possible player departures, Nagle has confirmed that the club is searching for a player who can enhance the current attacking options available to the manager.

**Huddersfield Town Remain Active in the Transfer Market**

As the transfer deadline on Friday, August 30th, approaches, the Terriers are open to the possibility of bringing in another forward. Speaking to Yorkshire Live, Kevin Nagle confirmed that the club is exploring potential deals but stressed that any new signing must offer an improvement on the existing squad:

“If there’s one out there, and there’s an opportunity, maybe we’re going to get one. I do like what Michael Duff says, and that is ‘if we can’t find anyone that’s as good as we already have at our club, we’re not going to sign them’. Just be patient, we still have a little bit more time, and we’re working on things.”

Huddersfield Town struggled to find the back of the net last season, contributing to their relegation from the Championship. They’ve also lost star midfielder Jack Rudoni to Coventry City this summer. Notably, their top scorer in the 2023/24 Championship campaign was defender Michael Helik, who scored nine goals in 41 appearances.

Determined not to leave anything to chance as they aim for promotion back to the second tier, the club’s leadership is keen on bolstering their attacking options. Huddersfield Town will host Shrewsbury Town this weekend, with their next away fixture against fellow relegated side Rotherham United.
