Dion Sanderson was not included in Birmingham City’s squad for their trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Chris Davies confirmed that defender Dion Sanderson missed Birmingham City’s victory over Leyton Orient due to an injury.
Sanderson was available again after completing a suspension, but the 24-year-old did not travel to London with the team because of an injury. Davies opted once more for Christoph Klarer to partner Krystian Bielik in the center-back position at Brisbane Road.
Birmingham City secured another three points on the road with a 2-1 victory at Brisbane Road, thanks to goals from Keshi Anderson and Alfie May.
Commenting on Sanderson’s absence after the match, Blues boss Davies said: “It’s going to be a few weeks. We can’t give an exact timeline yet because some things are still uncertain, but it will be a few weeks.”
Sanderson had a strong pre-season without the captain’s armband and started the season as Bielik’s partner. However, a red card at Charlton two weeks ago opened the door for Klarer, who has now secured the position.
Birmingham City is expected to further strengthen their defense in the final days of the transfer window.
