The Indiana Fever have made significant change to their lineup, just hours before they tip-off against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday.
Christie Sides and the coaching staff have decided to start guard Lexie Hull. While it’s unknown who she will replace, forward Katie Lou Samuelson is listed as questionable.
These two contributors may play different positions, but Sides has the opportunity to play three guards in Hull, Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell, and keep NaLyssa Smith and Aliyah Boston in their usual roles in the front court.
This would be able to speed up Indiana’s pace, which they’ll need against one of the highest rated defensive rated teams in the league, the Connecticut Sun. Lexie hull will start for the Fever tonight vs the Sun

The addition of Hull in the starting lineup doesn’t come as a surprise to many. WNBA fans have been calling for the 24-year-old to get more minutes in the lineup ever since the team returned from the WNBA’s break for the Summer Olympics
With two of the last four games seeing Hull shoot 80% from the field and two of the last four seeing them shoot over 66% from three, the team has been playing incredibly efficiently. Throughout the season, she has averaging 4.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Hull’s finest performance of the year occurred on August 18, when they defeated the Seattle Storm 92–75. The former star player for Stanford finished with 22 points on 85.7% three-point shooting.
Against the No. 2 club in the WNBA rankings, Hull will try to assist the Fever increase their prospects of making the playoffs. Indiana, who has won three of their previous four games, is now ranked as the seventh seed with a 14-16 record. With ten games left in the regular season, they want to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
