Birmingham City will be aiming to secure automatic promotion back to the Championship at the first opportunity this season.
Over the summer, Chris Davies took over as manager with the goal of steering the team to a top-two finish in League One.
The Blues had a busy transfer window, with the standout signing of Jay Stansfield drawing significant attention due to the substantial fee involved.
However, there is still room for one more addition, as free agents can still be signed even though the transfer window has closed.
Birmingham has registered 21 outfield players, leaving them with one available spot in their squad of 22, allowing for a potential free agent signing.

FLW’s Birmingham fan pundit has suggested that signing Brandon Williams as a free agent would be a smart move.
He argues that the left-back position needs reinforcement and believes the 24-year-old would suit Chris Davies’ playing style.
“For me, Brandon Williams would be the ideal choice,” Gibbs told Football League World.
“The reason I say that is because we’re currently short at left-back and heavily reliant on Alex Cochrane.
The teenage prospect will face some of Birmingham’s rivals this season, and he could help to take points from them.
“The match against Walsall last week highlighted this, with Brandon Khela, a right-footer, filling in at left-back and being at fault for the goal.
“Lee Buchanan will be sidelined for a while, and he’s more of a defensive left-back compared to Cochrane.
“Williams, however, embodies the attacking style that the manager is trying to implement.
“I think he’d slot in perfectly and be a fantastic addition. At League One level, I’m confident he’d perform exceptionally well.”

Williams is currently a free agent after leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.
Last year, the defender was on loan at Ipswich Town, where he played 15 Championship games and contributed to their promotion to the Premier League (stats via Fbref).
Despite his free-agent status, he could potentially join Birmingham if the club decides to make an offer.
However, it’s uncertain if Williams would be open to dropping down to League One.

Although Williams couldn’t secure regular game time at Ipswich last season, he remained a valuable squad player for a team that finished second in the Championship.
