Nottingham Forest claimed a win at Anfield for the first time since 1969 on Saturday, with Nuno Espirito Santo doing something that not even the legendary Brian Clough could achieve.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal gave Forest the victory. It made guaranteed the Reds would not lose in the Premier League in the 2024–2025 season, and it occurred eighteen minutes from the end.
This season, Hudson-Odoi had not scored a goal before. With the first goal under his belt, the 23-year-old hopes to continue on the goal trail after scoring eight goals in the previous campaign. Many commentators and so-called experts predicted that Forest would be relegated this season. Even while it might still be the case, at this point the assertion is undoubtedly seeming implausible.
Robbie Earle has already changed his Nottingham Forest prediction
To be fair, the NBC Sports pundit wasn’t the only one. Due to several careless assumptions, Forest was positioned close to the bottom of the standings. Some even projected that Ipswich would continue to rise at the expense of the club.
But after Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, it seems that he has already rethought his prognosis. He stated, “I had Nottingham Forest to go down by the way before a ball was kicked,” in an interview with The 2 Robbies podcast. Now that I look at it, it appears to be a horrible yell on my part.
Forest still have work to do this season
The Reds are two points up on their first four games last season but there is still work to do from a Forest perspective. It’s a strong start to the campaign, but the team must stay grounded.
Forest aren’t back in action until next Sunday when they once again face a tough-looking away game – this time at Brighton. The Seagulls are also unbeaten this term and it promises to be an intriguing game.
