Ally McCoist has called for “Massive” changes at Rangers after the resignation of John Bennett.
With Dave King putting his name in the ring to return, the Ibrox icon said he was extremely concerned about events at Ibrox in a speech on TalkSPORT on September 17, at 6:10 a.m.
With no chief executive or chairman in place, McCoist admitted that change was needed to bridge the widening gap to Celtic in Glasgow.
“There’s no chief exec, there’s no chairman, at this moment in time, it’s not good. A lot of Rangers fans, including myself, are very, very concerned,” he said.
“I just think, I’ll be brutally honest, there’s change needed, change required – I mean, of course, I’m stating the obvious.
“If you’ve not got a chief executive, you’ve not got a chairman, there’s massive changes needed.
“You look at right now, the Old Firm games, let’s be honest about it – the gap, just now, is very, very large.”

But now more than ever, the Light Blues need a steady hand on the tiller to guide them through difficult waters, considering the directionless nature of the club’s leadership in recent times.
Hopes and fantasies of multi-million investment from the US or Middle East have been rubbished by King himself [The Rangers Review, 27 August], and so internal support looks the most plausible at Ibrox. The tasks ahead of any new chairman are getting longer by the day, as there is still no CEO or academy director named following the resignations of Zeb Jacobs and James Bisgrove. For the time being, though, it appears that the uncertainty surrounding Ibrox will persist regardless of what Philippe Clement’s team does on the field, posing an unwanted diversion from their attempt to catch up to Celtic.
