Luton Town boss Rob Edwards expressed his satisfaction with Thomas Kaminski’s performance at the weekend.
The goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in their 1-0 win away to Millwall, with defender Teden Mengi scoring the decisive goal in the first half at The Den.
Edwards noted in a Luton Today report: “I was pleased with our goalkeeper. In away Championship matches, you need him. Although he’s not as busy as last year, he made some crucial saves when needed.
“It was a stop-start game, and I’m exhausted from it as it became quite a grind. But securing a clean sheet with a 1-0 win here, following a 0-0 draw previously, demonstrates our character.”
Kaminski has proven to be a reliable goalkeeper for Luton Town.
He joined the Bedfordshire club in August of last year after their promotion from the Championship.
Kaminski has been Luton Town’s first-choice goalkeeper, making 38 appearances in his first year with the club. Despite their relegation from the Premier League, the Belgium international remained with Luton after the transfer window closed in late August.
Before joining Luton, Kaminski moved to England in 2020 to play for Blackburn Rovers, where he made 118 appearances. His previous clubs include OH Leuven, Kortrijk, and Gent.
Kaminski’s clean sheet against Millwall should boost his confidence. Luton Town have had a challenging start to the season, but their first win provides a positive momentum. Currently 19th in the table, Luton will face Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, a team just below them who haven’t won since the opening day. Upcoming fixtures against Plymouth Argyle, Oxford United, and Sheffield United offer opportunities for the Hatters to gather more points before the next international break.
