The Terriers have taken 12 points from their opening five matches, recording an impressive 4-0 victory at beaten play-off finalists Bolton Wanderers last time out.

“We need to be focused. Obviously it’s still like 41 games left to go. I’m only focusing on the next one. That’s how we need to take it,” the centre-back told HTTV.

“Every next game is an opportunity for getting three points, and that’s how we’re looking at it.

“Obviously we’re happy after that result, we’ll all enjoy it today (Saturday) because you need to enjoy it as well, and we have a day off tomorrow, and we’re coming back to work on Monday to work hard to get another three points in the next game.”

The Terriers got back to winning ways in emphatic style at the weekend, as a brace from Josh Koroma and strikes from Ben Wiles and Antony Evans secured a convincing victory at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Town had lost three on the spin in all competitions ahead of the game, following defeats to Walsall, Rotherham United and Doncaster Rovers, but responded by claiming an excellent result after the international break.

Helik praised his side for their performance in the resounding win, saying: “The mood is really good I think after that win. I think we needed that after not the greatest last week, results wise.

“We worked really hard during that international break, and that brought the effect, so I’m really pleased with the result tonight. I hope we will keep going like this in another league game as well.

“I think in any game, nobody will give us three points. We need to be patient sometimes, working hard, and doing the things right, doing basics right, and that will bring us the goals. I feel that was how it was today, and we need to keep doing that.

“I think the good thing today was that we were patient, but not passive. Sometimes when you are thinking you are patient, you become passive, but we were patient but we were still working hard.

“That was really hard I think for Bolton to keep that intensity, because we were pushing, we were crunching the pitch, we were dropping when they were trying to put the ball in behind, so that hard work gave us the opportunities, and we took them.”

While Saturday’s win was Town’s biggest victory of the season to date, it was also their fourth clean sheet in eight matches in all competitions so far this term.

Helik was pleased with the collective efforts of the team that prevented Bolton from scoring at the weekend, adding to their shutouts against Peterborough United, Morecambe and Shrewsbury Town.
