EXclusive: Michael Duff reaction after latest Huddersfield Town defeat….

Michael Duff has urged Huddersfield Town to stop “sabotaging themselves” after their 2-1 loss to Reading. The Terriers’ head coach saw his team take the lead through Matty Pearson’s header, but Reading equalized with a goal from Harvey Knibbs before Ben Elliott sealed the win with a low shot early in the second half.

This marks Huddersfield’s sixth defeat in seven games across all competitions. “We found a way to lose,” Duff lamented. “It was a much better display than in recent weeks, so that’s something positive. At half-time, it was hard to believe the score was 1-1.

“Yet we still managed to lose. We controlled 75 per cent of the game, and by the 70th minute, we were completely dominant. It’s frustrating and disappointing. Only Blackpool have outplayed us in recent matches. We need to adapt, find ways to turn draws into wins, and stop causing our own downfall.”

Meanwhile, Reading manager Ruben Selles praised his team for their comeback victory. “We’re happy to get three points after a few weeks without a win,” he said. “It was a competitive match, and even when we went 1-0 down, we felt we could turn it around. We scored twice against a strong opponent and managed to hold on to the lead.

“After conceding, we demanded more resilience from the team, and they responded. Harvey [Knibbs] had a tough start to the season due to injury, but today he played the full 90 minutes and performed really well. We know how valuable he is to the team.”
