Ipswich Town may consider reuniting with former player Aaron Cresswell on a free transfer from West Ham this summer, but only if they secure promotion to the Premier League next season
The Tractor Boys have been enjoying a successful campaign, currently topping the Championship table with six games left to play.
Interestingly, West Ham have been linked with Ipswich’s current left-back Leif Davis, who has impressed this season, potentially paving the way for a straightforward swap deal. Davis can also play in central defence and has build a reputation for deadly set-piece deliveries.
Under Kieran McKenna’s management, Ipswich has demonstrated a style of play suited to the Premier League, characterised by fast-paced and attractive football. This makes them an attractive prospect for potential transfer targets in the upcoming window.
However, adding a seasoned player like Aaron Cresswell could provide valuable experience and leadership. Cresswell has served West Ham admirably, but with his £50k-a-week contract set to expire this summer, a return to Portman Road could offer a fitting conclusion to his career.
