Injury Update: Stoke City injury news vs Portsmouth as key forward will miss the match.

Ashley Phillips is set to return to Stoke City’s squad for their mid-week match against Portsmouth, but there are still concerns about the fitness of Million Manhoef.

Phillips, who is on loan from Spurs for the season, has completed a two-week concussion protocol after a head injury during a Carabao Cup tie against Fleetwood Town. He has now been cleared to rejoin training and is in contention to play on Wednesday (7:45 PM).

On the other hand, Manhoef was taken off early in the second half against Middlesbrough on Saturday after receiving treatment for a leg issue. He had been feeling unwell before the match and will be given every opportunity to prove his readiness for tomorrow’s game.

Stoke assistant manager Narcis Pelach said, “Phillips is back, but we’re unsure about Million. He had a problem in the last match, so we’ll check him in the morning to see if he’s fit.”

Pelach also discussed the team’s tactical approach: “The goal is to be more aggressive, both in attack and defense. We want to play like we did in the first 30 minutes against Hull City, pressing high, recovering the ball quickly, and attacking with real intent. We’re focusing on being more aggressive as we implement our new ideas.”
