Breaking News: Journalist calls out manager for treatment of Southampton man – Has been manipulating truth

Chilean manager Ricardo Gareca has been accused of distorting the truth about Ben Brereton Diaz and his treatment of the Southampton forward. This claim comes from Chilean journalist Juan Cristóbal Guarello, who, via Infobae, criticized Gareca’s recent comments regarding Brereton Diaz.

The relationship between Gareca and Brereton Diaz has been strained, particularly after Gareca criticized the forward for not speaking Spanish. Since then, several incidents have occurred, including a notable moment earlier this year when Gareca substituted Brereton Diaz after just 35 minutes during a match against Bolivia. This decision drew widespread criticism, with some accusing Gareca of ‘destroying’ the player’s confidence.

Despite Gareca’s attempts to downplay any tension between them, he has left Brereton Diaz out of the squad for the upcoming international break, a move that has also sparked backlash. Gareca attempted to justify his decision, but Guarello was not impressed, expressing his frustration with the coach.

“Gareca lied about Brereton on Friday. He claimed he always selected him, but that’s not true,” Guarello reportedly said on his YouTube channel, *La Hora del King King*, according to Infobae. “Ben wasn’t initially on the list—Palacios was. When Palacios got injured, Gareca called up Brereton instead. The match was in Italy, and it was easier to bring him from England. Despite playing well off the bench in both games, Brereton had to endure it.”

Guarello further added, “Gareca told a significant lie, and it makes you wonder how many other things we don’t know or whether what he says is true. Whether it was lying, omitting, or manipulating the truth—it’s all the same.”
