Mens Pacific Championships

Australia: Matt Burton

Following what many consider his best season in the Blue and White, five-eighth Matt Burton has earned a spot on the Kangaroos squad.

The 24-year-old playmaker is set to potentially make his debut for Australia, having previously represented NSW in two games during the 2022 State of Origin series.

Fiji: Viliame Kikau, Kitione Kautoga, Jethro Rinakama, Penioni Tagituimua

Fijian trio Villiame Kikau, Kitione Kautoga, and Jethro Rinakama are set to represent the Bati in this year’s Pacific Bowl.

The 2024 Dr George Peponis Medal winner, with 16 Bati appearances, will take on a senior role, while Kautoga and Tagituimua will aim to further their Test experience, having played in two and nine matches, respectively.

Meanwhile, Rinakama, who played a key role in the Bulldogs’ second straight Jersey Flegg Cup triumph, is ready to make his international debut.

Men’s Internationals

Samoa: Jeral Skelton

Outside back Jeral Skelton has been called up for Toa Samoa’s two-Test series against England.

The 25-year-old is poised to make his Test debut after an impressive season in the Blue and White.

Womens Pacific Championships

Tonga: Shannon Muru, Paea Uilou

Forward duo Shannon Muru and Paea Uilou, key players for the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership team this season, have both earned selection for Tonga.

The pair, who recently signed contracts to join the Bulldogs’ inaugural NRLW squad, will gain valuable experience in the tournament ahead of the club’s debut in the women’s competition.

Fiji: Latisha Smythe

Latisha Smythe, Co-Captain of the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership side and a powerful forward, has been named in the Fiji Bulikula squad for the Women’s Pacific Championships.

Smythe, who has signed with the Bulldogs’ inaugural NRLW squad, is set to become the first female player to progress from the Canterbury-Bankstown District Junior Rugby League to the NRLW.
