Blues are expected to land a high-priced pick, fulfilling the baker’s trade wish.

In order to make room for the Eagles to acquire Richmond’s Liam Baker, Carlton is expected to acquire Pick 3 in a trade with West Coast.

According to AFL Media writer Cal Twomey on Monday night, the Blues would get the No. 3 draft pick in return for Pick 14, forward Matt Owies, and several other picks.

According to Twomey, Baker will get his Eagles wish after his proposed move was briefly in doubt, and West Coast is anticipated to on-trade No. 14 to Richmond in exchange.

Additionally, Carlton will send the Eagles its No. 12 pick; according to Twomey, the deal will be formally filed on Tuesday.

Owies’ addition to the potential transaction, along with Picks 12 and 14, “put it back on the table,” according to Seven reporter Ryan Daniels.

The Eagles recently met with the in-limbo 27-year-old forward, who has kicked 60 goals in the last two seasons but is still unsigned at Carlton.

Daniels went on to say that more draft choices would be “sprinkled in.”

TIGERS, SUNS COMING TOGETHER ON RIOLI PRICE

According to reports, Richmond and Gold Coast are getting close to agreeing on a trade price for Daniel Rioli, a rebounder.

According to Twomey, Gold Coast will select the No. 23 pick after days of back and forth on whether the Suns would need to add a sweetener on top of Pick 6 for the contracted defender.

As the Suns look to increase their draft point total in order to match an early rival draft bid for Academy graduate Leo Lombard, the teams are also anticipated to trade late selections.

The Suns acquire their top halfback, the Tigers receive two more significant draft picks, and it might be a win for both teams.

Before a probable deal with Fremantle adds two more first-round picks to the Tigers’ 2024 draft arsenal before Wednesday’s trading period deadline, Richmond will own Picks 1, 6, 20, 23, and 24 inside the top 25 if transactions with West Coast and Gold Coast are officially announced on Tuesday.

The Suns are still trying to get Collingwood flanker John Noble, having already signed free agent Elliott Himmelberg and are close to adding Rioli. However, rumours of a three-club, seven-pick, five-player transaction have come to a standstill.
