Shocking: “Texas Linebacker Caught in Baker Mayfield Flag Stunt Speaks Out….

Following his team’s victory over Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, a Texas Longhorns player impaled his jersey with a flag, giving Baker Mayfield a bit of a stray. However, another player who was involved in the stunt claimed they weren’t attempting to offend the former Sooners quarterback while giving some additional background.

The Texas Longhorns were the nation’s top-ranked team going into Saturday’s game against the Oklahoma Sooners. They solidified their position as the team to beat this season with a resounding 34-3 victory in hostile territory to move up to 6-0 before their eagerly awaited matchup against Georgia this weekend.

Two Texas linebackers made a bit of a statement after the game ended. Anthony Hill Jr. put a Baker Mayfield jersey at midfield, and Barryn Sorrell threw a Longhorns flag into it.

Mayfield, who had experienced flag-related trolling while at Oklahoma, responded to the gesture on Sunday with a puzzled expression, claiming it demonstrated that he had been “rent-free in their heads for almost a decade.” To try to clear the air, Hill has stepped out.

Sports Illustrated reports that the linebacker confirmed that the jersey was given to him by a Longhorns supporter, most likely a member of the Cannon Crew who caused the hole in it, and stated that he wasn’t attempting to offend Mayfield.

To tell the truth, I was given the jersey by a random Texas supporter, and since it was the first OU jersey I owned, we essentially used it. We only had only one jersey.

Therefore, don’t be mean to Baker Mayfield. In fact, I’m a huge fan. There isn’t any hate because I saw him play in college. We’ll simply end it there because that was the first jersey I had ever seen.
