As part of the Peatling package, GWS has given up a future third and fourth round selection.
Following intense interest from teams throughout the competition, including Melbourne, West Coast, Collingwood, St Kilda, and the Western Bulldogs, who also indicated a wish to entice Peatling away from GWS, Peatling asked to be traded to West Lakes last week.

After turning down the Crows’ initial proposals, the Giants continued to negotiate until the very end of the trading period and ultimately agreed to the transaction.

The Crows won the battle for the local midfielder’s signature and have now acquired Peatling’s services through a transfer agreement, despite the Giants’ desire to keep him.

After the Giants received first-round compensation for the departures of free agents Harry Perryman and Isaac Cumming, the Crows surrendered their future second-round pick to GWS, substantially increasing the New South Wales club’s draft capital.

GWS received Picks 16 and 21 in exchange for the defensive pair joining Adelaide and Collingwood, respectively.

Additionally, GWS lost veteran Nick Haynes to Carlton through a free-agency move. The Giants did not, however, receive payment for his departure.

Peatling’s arrival at Adelaide comes after Melbourne Premiership player Alex Neal-Bullen joined the Crows earlier this trade, and Cumming returned to South Australia.
