Bob Pockrass of FOX would concur that Kyle Larson is the clear favourite to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series going into the Round of 8.
During his appearance on this week’s episode of Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, the NASCAR insider discussed the factors that have contributed to Larson’s success this season on a variety of tracks and why it will be so challenging for the other teams to prevent the No. 5 team from improving and taking home their second Cup Series championship in the coming weeks.
When asked if the Hendrick Motorsports driver is the front-runner for the Cup Series title, Pockrass replied, “Oh, for sure.” “No one else has more than three victories; he has six.” I believe Cliff [Daniels] even stated at the beginning that he respects everyone. Their greatest obstacle, in his opinion, is themselves. They are aware that they will be extremely difficult to defeat if they show up and perform to the best of their abilities.
As you would imagine, I asked Larson whether anyone else was like that. He claimed that Denny has been the driver he has observed to be as steady on speed as they have been all year. I believe that many people observe Christopher Bell, and it’s clear that he is strong at a track like Phoenix. It seems to me that every week you ask, “Who are going to be the fastest cars?” Larson is present each week.
Larson is always a threat to win, regardless of the track. The Cup Series is now heading to Las Vegas, one of the No. 5 wheelman’s favourites, after he demonstrated that once more during this past weekend’s trip to the Charlotte Roval. If he can win in Sin City, as he has done the last two times NASCAR has brought its show to the region, he might guarantee himself a spot in the Championship 4.
It’s possible that Kyle Larson is just exceptional. He is having a season to remember in 2024, even if he doesn’t win the championship because the race in Phoenix is a one-off.

It’s practically tough to pick against the No. 5 Chevrolet right now, even though Harvick isn’t exactly going out on a limb because he’s dominating with Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports. Having won the last two races in Sin City, Las Vegas has proven to be one of Larson’s greatest Cup Series circuits. A third consecutive victory would guarantee him a spot in the Championship 4.
Through Harvick’s Happy Hour, Harvick clarified, “It’s difficult to go against Kyle Larson.” “I’m going to stick with that Kyle Larson, Cliff Daniels train as they return to Las Vegas because he won the first race there and dominated this past week.”
Harvick’s co-host, Kaitlyn Vincie, had no objection to the selection because she is also riding with Larson to secure his second Cup Series victory in Phoenix later this season. By selecting Christopher Bell of Joe Gibbs Racing to upset Larson and dominate the beat at Las Vegas, Mamba Smith at least attempted to be a little different.
Time will tell who wins in Sin City, but the South Point 400, which pits the top drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series against one another, is sure to be an exciting event. The overwhelming favourite and Kevin Harvick’s choice is Kyle Larson. He will undoubtedly be difficult to defeat.
