Exclusive: Canberra Raiders prop forced to reject Super League interest due to visa issues and finds new club

According to League Express, Peter Hola, a prop for the Canberra Raiders, must turn down Super League interest in order to stay in the NRL.

Despite making 12 appearances for the North Queensland Cowboys between 2019 and 2021 and 22 for the Raiders’ reserve grade during the New South Wales Cup season, Hola has only made three appearances for the Raiders since making his debut in 2022.

Naturally, players who have participated in the NSW or Queensland Cup competitions and are 24 years of age or younger will be eligible to apply for visas to play in the UK under the new regulations. However, Hola no longer qualifies because he is now 25 and hasn’t played enough games to be allowed entry into the country, so the prop will now remain in Australia.

However, Hola has moved to Redcliffe, the Dolphins’ feeder squad, in an attempt to get an NRL dea after Canberra failed to offer him a new contract when his expired one ended at the end of 2024.
