Waqanicakau will play its first game of beach soccer.

Sanaila Waqanicakau, the vice captain, is eager to play for Fiji in the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup in Honiara, Solomon Islands, in 2024. Waqanicakau is thrilled about the chance to represent the national team in its inaugural beach soccer competition. He thinks having a coach like Jerry Sam is fantastic.

Waqanicakau adds that it is the players’ responsibility to carry out the coach’s game plan. Two important players won’t be available for their debut game against Papua New Guinea tomorrow, according to Coach Sam. “You know we can manage to stick with these players for the first game, even though two of our experienced players will arrive later.” Madhvan Goundar and Tevita Waranivalu will join the team later and be eligible for selection on Wednesday. The first game between our team and Papua New Guinea is scheduled for tomorrow at 2pm.

On Wednesday, Fiji takes on Tahiti at 2pm and on Thursday they’ll play Solomon Islands at 4pm.
