JUST IN: Nuno delivers potentially worrying update on Nottingham Forest attacker after…

Crystal Palace will arrive tonight looking for their first win of the season, adding extra pressure to the match. Nottingham Forest will aim to break back into the top half of the table, and a victory with all three points could help them achieve that goal.

Nuno delivers potentially worrying update on Nottingham Forest attacker Morgan Gibbs-White

Forest’s last outing ended in a draw against Chelsea, with Chris Wood earning praise from Ally McCoist for his performance. However, tonight’s lineup will see some changes for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team due to injuries and suspensions. James Ward-Prowse will miss the game after receiving a red card against Chelsea, serving a one-match suspension. Additionally, Morgan Gibbs-White, who was injured in the Chelsea game, will also be unavailable and faces a one-match ban following his red card against Brighton.

Gibbs-White, Forest’s vice-captain, caused concern after being forced off with an injury against Chelsea. He had to withdraw from England duty and missed the opportunity to add to his single cap. Nuno Espirito Santo has provided an update on his condition, revealing that the 24-year-old is still recovering from the injury.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Espirito Santo said, “It’s not nice when you don’t have a player available. It’s not the right moment, he’s still injured. Hopefully, for the next game, he’s going to be available. He went out with a lot of pain [against Chelsea] and is still recovering. He’s getting much better, but it’s still going to take some time. It’s always a day-by-day assessment with the medical department and the player. For now, he’s not available against Crystal Palace.”

Forest are eager to get Gibbs-White fit as soon as possible, especially with several winnable games ahead. While this might be one of the strongest squads Forest has had since their return to the Premier League, losing key players like Gibbs-White, who is integral to their attacking play, is a blow. He is the player who drives the team in the final third, and his return is crucial for their ongoing success.

With Danilo and Ibrahim Sangaré already sidelined long term, it’s crucial for Nottingham Forest that Morgan Gibbs-White returns to action as soon as possible.

Forest have two important fixtures coming up—against Crystal Palace tonight and Leicester on Friday—so there’s little time to spare. The hope is that Gibbs-White’s absence tonight will allow him to recover in time to feature in the next game.
