Although Forest is keeping a look out for new players, their current season’s performances are also drawing attention to their great players. Defender Ola Aina has come to the attention of AC Milan, who are planning a bid to sign him. Roma is also a potential rival, having been linked to a £10 million move for the youngster.
Forest will be determined to keep hold of Aina, but it doesn’t stop there for the Reds, as another defender is also being eyed, but this time from Premier League clubs.
Liverpool and Chelsea monitoring Murillo
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Chelsea are considering a move for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. The 22-year-old has been at the City Ground since August 2023, and despite being there for such a short space of time, he has already established himself as a key player under Nuno.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding incumbent defender Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires at the end of this season, Liverpool has reportedly created a shortlist of center-backs. It continues by saying that Murillo, who makes £30,000 a week, “forcefully” made his way onto Liverpool’s shortlist. The team now plans to keep an eye on the defender for the remainder of the season before considering a summer transfer.
Although Chelsea and Liverpool are both interested in the Forest star, Murillo is also on Chelsea’s shortlist. The Brazilian is on the Blues’ centre-back list, but they are reportedly evaluating where they want to make improvements in the upcoming transfer window and may ultimately have more crucial areas to address.

Although Forest has no plans to sell Murillo in January, they might be forced to do so if they receive a big offer in the summer. According to this source, the City Ground may accept offers in the range of £60 to £70 million, even if the defender’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2028.
