Larson, who had already secured his spot in the Championship 4, crashed while trailing race leader Ryan Blaney. Larson misjudged the braking distance as he approached pit road, causing him to hit the sand-filled safety barrels at high speed, effectively ending his race. Although disappointed, Larson admitted fault, explaining that he tried to maximize his pit entry speed but misjudged Blaney’s slowing pace​

Meanwhile, Christopher Bell from Joe Gibbs Racing won the race, advancing to the Championship 4 with Larson. The incident left Hendrick Motorsports short of a win as the competition for the final playoff spots tightened. With only one race left before the championship, tension is building for the remaining drivers aiming to secure their place in the Championship
