Bradford Bulls have made a significant addition to their squad by signing Fiji international Waqa Blake on a two-year deal. The experienced outside back joins the Championship side after leaving St Helens, marking the beginning of a new era under head coach Brian Noble.
Blake brings a wealth of experience, having played 165 games in the NRL with the Penrith Panthers and Parramatta Eels before making a successful transition to the Super League with St Helens in 2024. During his time at Saints, Blake made 24 appearances and crossed the line for 11 tries, demonstrating his ability to deliver in high-pressure matches.
Bulls head coach Brian Noble expressed his excitement about the signing, saying, *”You very rarely get to sign players who have played 165 games in the NRL and numerous games in the Super League. He will be a real quality addition for our squad, especially our backline.”*
Blake’s arrival is seen as a significant coup for Bradford, given the competition for his signature. Noble added, *”We are thankful that he’s signed for the Bulls as there was plenty of interest from other teams. It indicates that the club is going in the right direction and that the Bradford Bulls is still a strong brand.”*
As the Bulls prepare for the upcoming Championship season, Blake’s signing signals the club’s ambitions to return to the top flight. His experience and skillset are expected to bolster the team as they aim to re-establish themselves as a force in rugby league.
With fans eager to see him in action, Waqa Blake’s addition is a promising step forward for the revitalized Bradford Bulls.
