“It’s concerning” … Kris Boyd expresses alarm over Celtic’s dominance compared to Rangers

Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership over the weekend with a commanding victory over Hearts, while Rangers dropped points against Dundee United, and Aberdeen faltered at St Mirren.

Now three points clear at the top, Celtic is heading into a critical series of fixtures that could significantly shape their season in the weeks ahead.

A victory against Club Brugge in the Champions League would virtually guarantee a playoff spot, along with a hefty financial boost from UEFA. In domestic competition, a win over Aberdeen could further solidify their league dominance, while triumphing over Rangers in the upcoming League Cup final would secure the season’s first silverware and intensify the pressure on their Ibrox rivals.

Adding to their momentum, Celtic recently secured contract extensions for key players James Forrest and Alistair Johnston, putting the club in an enviable position.

This situation has left former Rangers striker Kris Boyd deeply concerned.

Boyd: “Celtic’s dominance is worrying from a Rangers perspective”

Speaking to Go Ballistic, Boyd admitted:
“When you look at Celtic, they’re consistently winning games. Aberdeen posed a challenge for a while, but you always had the sense it was only a matter of time before Celtic began pulling away.

“Now, they’re three points ahead of Aberdeen and an alarming 11 points clear of Rangers. And we’re not even in December yet.

“It’s unsettling for Rangers, but from Celtic’s perspective, they’ll be thrilled—especially after going to Tynecastle and putting four past Hearts.”

With Celtic firing on all cylinders, the gap between the two Glasgow rivals only seems to be widening, adding to the growing concerns among Rangers supporters.“It was a difficult first half for them, but it was the exact same at Celtic Park a couple of weeks ago. It was a difficult first half for them, but they find a way. Celtic find a way.”

Celtic’s next six Scottish Premiership fixtures compared to Rangers

Celtic’s fixtures are coming thick and fast and with Brendan Rodgers due to go to Ibrox on the 2nd of January, there are still six fixtures for the Hoops boss to negotiate.

And compared to Rangers, the league challenge from the Ibrox club could be over before the big Glasgow Derby if they drop more points:

So it seems like Boyd has every reason to be panicked. Rangers have four away games out of six whereas Celtic play in Paradise in four out of their six fixtures.
