Allen Park In addition to an offensive line injury to keep an eye on, the Detroit Lions returned two of their important players to action to start the divisional-round week.
Cornerback Terrion Arnold (foot) and running back David Montgomery (knee) were classified as full participants. It should be noted that these are approximate designations because the Lions conducted a walkthrough on Tuesday.
After missing three games, Montgomery is anticipated to return to action this week. The Lions are undoubtedly eager to use the running back.
It will have great significance. No. 5 is very important to us. According to Lions head coach Dan Campbell, “he’s a huge part of us.” He is a bell cow. He sets the tone. He has a place because he is a catalyst. He will have a place in this game because there is a place for him here. Therefore, it will be beneficial to have him return.
During the team’s winner-take-all match, Arnold was dragged out. However, the youngster has had only good news since that difficult scene. With a foot injury, he is regarded as day-to-day and seems on pace to fulfil his post-game promise to return.
However, defensive tackle Pat O’Connor (calf), cornerback Ennis Rakestraw (hamstring/illness), and starting offensive centre Kevin Zeitler (hamstring) were all listed as non-participants.
Last Thursday, Rakestraw’s 21-day return window was opened. Due to a hamstring injury, the rookie cornerback has been out since November and is currently on injured reserve. O’Connor had an injury during the season finale, and Campbell hasn’t given any indication that he will make a comeback.
However, Zeitler is the one to follow. A hamstring ailment sidelined him during that victory over the Minnesota Vikings. However, there hasn’t been much information released regarding his condition because he stayed on the sidelines to watch the game.
When questioned on Monday about Zeitler and Arnold, Campbell responded, “I mean, I just know everybody’s treatment has gone well, and we’ll see.”
Christian Mahogany, a rookie, took Graham Glasgow’s place in the starting lineup after he missed a game in the final stretch. The best candidates to take Zeitler’s spot at right guard, if necessary, are Mahogany and Kayode Awosika.
