Dundee v Rangers fiasco: Where fine will go after ‘Stinging’ response from Ibrox

Dundee v Rangers - Best Of The Scottish Premiership Action

According to the Scottish Daily Mail, Dundee has claimed that a portion of their penalties for a soggy pitch is due as compensation to Sky Sports. However, this is purportedly to help the SPFL cover costs caused by the row between Dundee and Rangers.

Rangers’ “stinging response” to having the match between the two clubs put off for the second time was reported in the report on the back page and page 79 on 19 April, with the Gers urging the SPFL to take action following Dundee’s “negligence and unprofessionalism”.

Dundee has challenged the nature of the fine, however their assertions have been reported to be false.

Rangers are upset after the Dundee interruption.

Rangers have made no effort to conceal their unhappiness with the interruption created by problems with Dundee’s Dens Park pitch.

Their two postponements against the Gers marked the fourth and fifth times a game had to be rescheduled at Dens Park this season due to the playing surface becoming waterlogged and unsuitable as a result.

Rangers were told of the game’s cancellation at short notice in both circumstances, three days before the game in the first instance and on the day of the match earlier this month.

The match resulted in a 0-0 tie, putting the Gers three points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership rankings and with a lower goal differential, hindering their title hopes.
