Rangers would have to pay £8million to secure Abdereen forward Bojan Miovski during the summer transfer window, according to Jonny McFarlane.
The 24-year-old forward has been linked with a switch to Ibrox this summer, with former Dons boss Neil Warnock previously admitting that he expects the striker to be sold come the end of the season, mooting Glasgow as a potential destination.
While Rangers Review journalist McFarlane believes the North Macedonian international would be an excellent addition to Philippe Clement’s side, he admits that it could be an incredibly expensive deal to pull off.
Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel (23 April, 12:45) he said: “I think he is a phenomenal talent. I really, really like him, I think he would be the perfect signing [for Rangers].
“I don’t think there is any doubt that Aberdeen are going to ask for top, top money for this guy. It will depend on how much interest there is, but I would not be surprised if Aberdeen will be looking for £8million for Miovksi.
“They can want £8million and if nobody comes in with that, obviously that price will go down, but for Championship clubs, £8million is not a lot of money and I would be surprised if there wasn’t interest in that kind of area for him.
“I think Celtic like the look of him, but would they pay that? I’m not sure, but he’s a really, really dangerous player.”
Will Rangers or Celtic sign Bojan Miovski during the summer transfer window?
Most supporters remain in agreement that Clement simply has to sign a new number nine during the summer transfer window. While Cyriel Dessers has impressed at times, he has lacked the consistency required to be a success at Ibrox.
Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland has been another name tipped to make the switch to Glasgow this summer and both he and Miovski would carry a guarantee of goals given their previous Premiership exploits.
Whether or not Clement and his recruitment team could pay the £8million that Aberdeen will be looking for in the summer remains to be seen, but there will certainly be some wiggle room on that price, especially if the Dons stay near the foot of the table.
Hopefully, the Light Blues will do all that they can to bring a new number nine to Ibrox this summer. While Dessers doesn’t necessarily need to be replaced, he needs somebody to help shoulder the burden at the top end of the field.
