Everton find tailor-made Branthwaite replacement already, they want to sign him

Everton want to sign Jacob Greaves as Jarrad Branthwaite replacement, Hull City stance emerges

Everton want to sign Hull City’s Jacob Graves to replace Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, but the Championship club is not interested in selling, according to iNews.

According to the news outlet’s website (24 April), the academy graduate is considered a “tailor-made replacement” for Branthwaite, who is a summer transfer target for Manchester United.

Tottenham and Brentford are also interested in the central defender, but Hull are willing to turn down bids for their key players this summer even if they do not win promotion to the Premier League because they want to keep the group together to compete again next season.

Are Everton’s financial woes generating a transfer headache?

The Toffees’ finances are currently in complete disarray, and no one knows what the club’s long-term plans are.

This presents major issues off the pitch when it comes to planning for on-field activities, since they have no idea how they will replace important players who are likely to leave.

Branthwaite and Amadou Onana are likely to leave after the season. The club may need to fund £60 million before June 30th to avoid a further PSR breach and points loss in 2024/25.

However, if they are forced to seek to the Championship to replace their great players, they will have to pay amounts they cannot afford, making the transfer window extremely difficult.

Other teams are vying for these players, and Hull refuses to sell, so any deal would have to be at a premium, which Everton cannot afford.
