Rangers duo John Lundstram and Borna Barisic have reached two-year agreements over summer moves to Trabzonspor, according to Lorenzo Lepore.
Lepore, who is a journalist for the Italian media outlet Sempre Milan and is also the founder of Space Viola, claims that there is an option for another year.
Both Lundstram and Barisic’s contracts at Ibrox are set to run out in the summer and they do not appear likely to stay with their exit now set in stone.
Lepore wrote on Twitter: “John Lundstram & Borna Barisic, TIME TO SIGN with Trabzonspor. They’ll both join the Turkish club as free agents, from Rangers. Understand that the agreement for both is on a 2 year deal plus an option for another year.”
Rangers are set to part ways with John Lundstram and Borna Barisic
It’s time for Barisic to leave Rangers due to his diminishing role in the team.
He has lost his place in the starting eleven, indicating a decline in his importance to the squad.
Philippe Clement’s preference for Dujon Sterling in Barisic’s position when Ridvan Yilmaz is unavailable further emphasises the Croatian’s diminishing role.
This situation suggests that Barisic’s time at Ibrox has reached its natural conclusion, making a move to Trabzonspor a logical step for him to seek new opportunities and regular playing time.
Regarding John Lundstram, who was in contract talks not too long ago, although he can still be a useful player, his decision to leave suggests a desire for a new challenge or a change in environment.
If Clement does not stand in his way, it indicates the manager respects Lundstram’s wishes and acknowledges that the player has given his best during his time at Rangers.
With both players’ contracts expiring, their departures seem timely and beneficial for all parties involved
