Pompey are eager to welcome Tino Anjorin back to Fratton Park.
According to The News, the Blues are willing to consider extending the Chelsea midfielder’s loan at Fratton Park for a second season.
Anjorin finished the season strong despite suffering another significant setback in a career plagued by injury.
Pompey would want to safeguard themselves against the possibility of another issue arising for the 22-year-old.
However, John Mousinho is confident that the Poole player will have a significant impact in the second tier next season.
Anjorin’s return ended five months of frustration after sustaining a catastrophic hamstring injury in the FA Cup defeat at Chesterfield last November.
Five appearances were made in the season’s climax, including starts when Pompey won the League One title against Barnsley and the final-day victory over Lincoln.
Anjorin expressed his wish to reciprocate Pompey’s devotion by covering his salaries while he was in the treatment room, as well as his desire to return the following season.
Another arrangement would most likely see the Blues pay a share of the Chelsea academy graduate’s weekly compensation, as his current contract runs until next summer.
That contribution would be reduced if Anjorin were to be sidelined again.
Such a deal provides Pompey confidence that they will obtain good value, while Anjorin is given the opportunity to exhibit his apparent skill.
The smooth operator has been a popular addition to the Blues club, with his contemporaries praising his abilities and considering him one of Mousinho’s most gifted players.
Anjorin is now one of 18 players in Las Vegas celebrating their League One title win.
Pompey recognise the need to reinforce in the areas where former Lokomotiv Moscow operates, with Anjorin playing both as a deeper midfielder and in a more advanced role in Mousinho’s preferred 4-2-3-1 configuration.
The Blues are interested in Bristol Rovers’ Antony Evans in that area of the pitch, following his good season in League One.
