Breaking News: Eric Eisner unveils Portsmouth owners’ next target following Championship return

For the first time since the 2011–12 campaign, the Blues are back in the Championship.

The Championship aim for the upcoming season has been revealed by Eric Eisner now that Pompey’s 12-year ban has been expired.

And while they try to keep up their good trend, he acknowledges that the Premier League is still Tornante’s ultimate “goal.”

The Blues will play in the Championship for the first time since 2012 in 2024–25 after winning League One in an incredible season under John Mousinho.

Chairman Michael Eisner has been waiting seven years to get out of the division, during which he was eliminated in two play-off semi-finals. This is his long-awaited moment of success.

The Fratton supporters are naturally curious about what the team plans to accomplish the following season, with this summer’s focus shifting back to squad development and recruiting under athletic director Rich Hughes.

Additionally, Eric Eisner, the director of Pompey, maintains that the team’s main goal is to hold onto their well-deserved Championship position.

“The goal is to stay up, and again, we’re going to stick with the exact strategy we’ve said the entire time,” he added to The News.

“Now that we’ve moved up, we need to continue moving up the table.” Promotions without demotions have always been the goal.

“We’ve always stated that the objective is to stay up, reassess, and assess where you are at when we reach the next level.” Build a youthful team and see how far you can go with that core, but make sure you do it sustainably.

Naturally, higher player salaries mean higher investment costs, but the EFL also offers greater payouts, and the Premier League contract is about to expire, so we’ll see what transpires there.

“The EFL is going to bring in a lot more revenue, which will enable us to acquire a lot better players.” Furthermore, I am rather hopeful about next year provided Rich makes intelligent decisions with a solid core of players, which he will do.

We already have a very competitive core when you construct a squad. You never know how far that core will go, but it may go a long way if you have a strong group of young guys.

The Premier League is undoubtedly an objective. I describe it this way: we’ve just ascended one peak and down another, and the Championship is the next, larger mountain.

Therefore, we don’t look too far ahead; instead, you should concentrate on the present. Our ultimate goal is to ascend the entire mountain.

For the final game of their championship campaign at Lincoln, the Eisner family recently made a trip back to England.

Naturally, Eric had visited the area multiple times during the promotion run-in, including the day the League One trophy was presented, when Wigan came to town.

They then turned to America after basking in the festivities of the city at a bright Southsea Common.

He went on, “Sometimes people think we take the press less seriously; it’s more American in style.”

“It’s not that we are avoiding press at all; the team on the ground here deserves a lot of the credit and will speak with you. Andy Cullen has done an incredible job.”

“We simply believe that the credit should go to the team on the ground.”
