Millwall strike deal with Tottenham over Japhet Tanganga but personal terms yet to be agreed

The Lions are looking to land their first deal of the transfer window

MILLWALL have struck a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Japhet Tanganga.

During his 18 appearances during the second half of the season, the defender showed promise while on loan at The Den.

Tanganga is currently being pursued by the Lions in an attempt to sign a long-term contract, and according to The Mirror, Tottenham has accepted an offer from Millwall.

However, before a contract could be made, Tanganga would still need to agree on personal terms.

With his impressive play at Millwall, the 25-year-old was sure to draw interest from other Championship clubs.

Following his arrival in January, Tanganga’s efforts enabled Millwall to fortify their defence and avoid relegation.

During the latter stretch of games, he also scored vital goals against Southampton and Birmingham City, which helped him become well-liked by the supporters.

However, he was sent off in his last game against Swansea City following a confrontation with Jerry Yates off the field.

The centre back’s season-long loan to Augsburg was terminated, and he then joined the team.
