DEAL: Journalist urges int’l player to join Rangers in summer as club considers sale

Ex Rangers player says Dessers joining club is encouraging - Vanguard News

Journalist Jose Miguel Dominguez of Panama has pushed fellow countryman Jose Cordoba to sign with the Rangers and rejected Besiktas’ alleged interest.

The Panama international, who plays for Levski Sofia in Bulgaria, has long been coveted by the Gers in anticipation of a summer roster purge.

But it looks like Besiktas of Turkey has entered the competition for the 22-year-old centre defender.

However, Dominguez would rather see his compatriot relocate to Scotland, stating to El Marcador TV on May 16 that “Levski [Sofia] is in charge of everything; he has to accept the best offer, research, and determine what is best for them financially.”

“I would advise travelling to Scotland, the UK, playing in Glasgow, and attempting to qualify for or compete in the UEFA Champions League.”

Would the Rangers be better off signing Jose Cordoba?

Since joining Levski Sofia in September 2021, Cordoba has proven to be an essential member of the team. He originally came on loan from the Panamanian club Independiente, which should not be mistaken with the Argentine squad of the same name.

Before moving to Levski Sofia at the age of 20, he had previously been on loan at Etar, another Hungarian team, and the junior system of Celta Vigo.

Despite his youth, he made an immediate impression and has started every game for the team ever since, totaling 87 games in all competitions.

Additionally, Cordoba is left-footed, a quality that powerful sides highly value in their central defenders.
